They also update the program several times a year so you can download the upgrade and fixes for free. Vienna is one that you will be able to use in almost all genre’s of music. I love it! You will love it too, because when it comes to using vst’s in todays market there are literally a ton of different vst’s. Vienna Special edition it's amazing for it's price, I have some others libraries for scoring films, but with Vienna I have way more possibilities when it comes to phrasing and expression, plus it takes me less time to give the perfect organic touch to my film scores, it sounds just great. You won't be disappointed, but it may take a little while (initially) to have it sounding the way you want Still, you've got to take the plunge if you need really tasty orchestra samples.
Also be prepared for a bit of a learning curve, not to mention a ton of re-mixing if you already had your arrangement almost finished using a sample library other than the VI. Unfortunately, if you really want a variety of articulations (such as ponticello tremolo), you'll need to buy the extended library. I purchased the Vienna Special Edition, and everything sounds great! These samples are the industry standard for good reason. I hope they come out with a newer version of it though soon. I have it loaded on so many different machines and it works great all the time.

Even though this software came out a while ago, it still works great on newer systems. It will also work with all of your major sequencing programs and daws that are on the market today. You will love the sounds and the price tag on VSL Vienna Instruments orchestral plug in. The thing that I like the best about it, is you get a lot of orchestral sounds and you get them at a good reasonable price. No matter what sort of system I have it running on it works great, and you can run it multiple times in the same session without it affecting your systems performance as long as you have a good amount of cpu available. It was a rather big plug in, but it still didn’t take that long to load and it runs awesome on my mac and all of my pc machines. So if you are in nned of a good orchestral vst this could be good for you. But there are definitely many more that are good, than there are that arent good. But not all of the orchestral sounds are good, some of them just arent realistic to me. This vst is really all about the orchestral sounds, that is what it is for and what it Excel’s in.

I didn’t know this at first, I bought it for my macbook and then after reading the manual that came with and and saw where it was compatible with both, so that was a big plus because now I can have it on all of my systems. VSL Vienna Instruments is compatible with mac and with pc.
